How to quickly distinguish the categories of RGBIC LED strip lights: WS2811, WS2812, WS2812B, WS2813, WS2815

WS2811 LED Strip Light:

The IC chip of the WS2811 led light strip is externally placed on the led light strip PCB board and is driven by DC12V voltage.

Usually, three LEDs are driven by an IC chip, that is, three LEDs are used as a pixel. (low pixel density). Often used as entry-level addressable led light strips.

WS2812 LED Strip Light:

WS2812 LED strip (P943 series) usually consists of a LED with IC and another 2 or 5 LEDs to form a loop (one pixel).

Use DC12V or DC24V voltage to drive. This light strip has 2 data lines, which can realize the function of continuous transmission after the breakpoint.

It is a cost-effective RGBIC led light strip product. Can be used for any small or large landscape lighting scene.

Higher driving voltage can improve the voltage drop problem caused by a long cascade.

The lower pixel density can significantly reduce the cost of the led light strip.

The built-in IC chip and dual signal lines can greatly reduce the failure rate of the led light strip.

WS2812B LED Strip Light:

The IC chip of the WS2812B led light strip is packaged inside the LED and driven by DC5V voltage. An IC drives an LED lamp bead, that is, a lamp bead as a pixel. (high pixel density). It is a relatively common addressable led light strip.

WS2813 LED Strip Light:

On the basis of WS2812B, WS2813 adds a spare data line to realize the function of resuming transmission from breakpoints.

Use DC5V voltage to drive. An IC drives an LED lamp bead, that is, a lamp bead as a pixel. (high pixel density). Often used for brightening decorations on small projects.

WS2815 LED Strip Light:

The WS2815 and WS2813 have the same points:

1. There are spare data lines, which can realize the function of resuming transmission from a breakpoint;

2. An IC drives an LED lamp bead, that is, a lamp bead as a pixel point. (high pixel density).

The difference is:

WS2813 can only be driven by DC5V voltage, and if the cascade is too long, there will be a voltage drop.

WS2815 can only be driven by DC12V voltage, which will significantly improve the voltage drop problem caused by long cascading.

It is often used as a lighting decoration for large-scale engineering projects.
